Can i use a metal case that i put the whole laser in as a large heat sink?

What about lens? what lens should i choose and how should i stick them to the diode?

To save space you can use one 3.3 ohm resistor instead of three 10 ohm resistors in parallel. Also you could rather use a LM2941 instead of LM317. It is a low dropout regulator so you won't need such a high voltage to use the driver, just search the web to find led drivers that uses one.
