Driver M140

Hello,

I just wanted to check that i got the right components and if i gain anything from using a different capacitor.

LM317T
1 Ohm 2 watt resistor
Potentiometer 2,2 Ohm 3w
47µF Capacitor
Do i need a diode if im going to permenetly hook it up to a Relay supplyed with 5V?

Is 5V enough? I could supply with 7V i guess

How fast can the driver be turned on and off without killing the diode?

Ive got 2 (2 of each) different capacitors one made for audio products and a normal one, do i gain any by using the audio made one. Is it better to use 4x 47µF or 1?

Audio capacitor: UFG1E470MEM 47uF 25V 85C
Normal capacitor: El.lyt 47uF 25V 85C ø5x11mm

And if Dtr sees this, How long does the shipping take to sweden?

Well, you definitely can't run a linear driver and a m140 off of 5 volts. 7 volts might work, depending on how much the driver drops, but >7V would be best.

As for the rest, I'll leave that for more knowledgeable folks.

Yup, in fact you could probably get away with 9V. If you use 12V, you should heatsink the ic.
