Did you just find out about these forums and immediately post that without reading ANYTHING? The answer to your question is in at least a few different sections on multiple threads, since it is very basic.
But for the hell of it, yes it has a driver (LED chip-type flashlights usually all have drivers, even if its just a small pcb board with 1 resistor on it) and yes you need to buy/make an actual laser diode driver if you want to use it as a host for a laser.

I'm [highlight]tired [/highlight]of newbies (like me) not reading up and cluttering the forums with questions that have been asked 1,000,000 times
however if you want an easy option you can use a 10 ohm resistor and a 16v cap and diode to make a very simple driver that may give you good results.

just a 10 ohm resistor would be fine. The driver in the Dorcy Jr already has a capacitor in it. I personally run it with a 5 ohm resistor. It gives me a total current of 220mA. A 3.6ohm resistor gives me about 290mA with a stonetek red diode.
