Does this count as a laser pointer?

I will be receiving this in a month. It will clean rust, cut, and weld with the different attachments. It is a 1500 watt water cooled system with a RECI fiber laser system.

About 8 grand. I get personal technical support in English from the supplier and all the spare parts. Local American companies charge more than twice the amount for the same machine. This was what I thought a laser pointer should be able to accomplish.

Not too bad a price for 1.5kW. That is one serious laser.

So you have a head or optic module to do cutting ?
If so what's your working distance ?

EDIT: Oh yes, you will have it in a month and you likely need time to discover all the specs, please post what you learn when you can. :)

You hold the gun against the work to cut or weld. The copper tip holds the optics the correct distance. Whe using the rust cleaning gun you hold it away from the material like a paint sprayer. If you are familiar with fiber optic lasers, it just depends on which lens you choose.
Here is a link of someone welding with it

Funny I've been looking at the 100-1500W Fiber lasers on aliexpress just recently, granted I'm still learning what's really included and what's needed, but there is a lot out there.

Don't buy that one. They were having problems with the minies. The duty time is very limited and will let you down mid job

Pays to research before you buy huh, that said I'm mostly looking for something to experiment with so it doesn't have to be the best industrial quality, although I love 2nd hand industrial stuff...... I'm what you might call, a cheapskate who appreciates quality, so that means I have to wait for a bargain. :D You know, you can have 2 of 3 ( Fast ) ( Good ) ( Cheap ) so I go for Good and cheap.
