Hi, Im new here, i recently have sparked interest in lasers and was intrigued that some of you made your own! My biggest question is for the circuit board for the module. I just bought a few 5mw 8x13 modules from aixiz and was wondering what some of you did for this? I hope this question made sense.... anyways i am looking forward to contributing some neat things to this forum!!!

actually if you look on the top of this subtopic (experiments and modifications) you will find my complete walkthrough on how to make your own diy red. I use the built in circuit inside a DORCY mini available at target to drive my diy red's.

I like the maglite mod... as soon as I saw your post I couldn't help it and I made my own! I absolutely love that it looks like a regular flashlight and can be made into a flashlight using the bulb that is in the tailcap. It is sturdy and suitable for cool fun on a camping trip or the such... It is cool to light your campfire with a laser that you made yourself too, then flip around and turn it into a flashlight later on... ;)

NO Joke! I sent mine off to Senkat to have him test it's output power and it's rated at about 50mw! I was devastated that it was soo low but considering it came from a plextor 8x burner I shouldn't be suprised. I will be putting a newer diode in it from the Senkat group buy and will use it to burn lots of things.

Huh? What group buy? Did I miss out on a red diode group buy again? :'(
