Greetings everyone!

I'm very interested in building an LPM. An inexpensive one. I don't need 1% accuracy, just something within say 10%. There are several good threads about the <$50 LPM builds, but they are rather necrotic, and I don't want to resurrect them as that's usually frowned upon. So, thought I would start a new thread and get some hints/tips/recent components/etc for 2015 rather than 2011. I'm looking at building a TEC LPM, am very new to lasers, but not new to electronics (although it's been 30 years since I've built any circuits).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Well if you successfully make one for cheap, let me know i'll buy one from you. :)

Ok, wanted to let everyone know I'm still working on this project. I've decided to integrate the ISIS project also and change as much as I can from that project into Through Hole components to make it easier to breadboard and easier to assemble. There are a couple of components from that datalogging project that there are no through hole component equivalents, so I'm trying an adapter board. I hope to have everything by next week, then will breadboard it all and see if it works.

I can't wait. Are you doing a video tutorial or just a write-up? Pictures Please Sir.

Thanks,
Ben

I'm going to do a write-up with pics. Publish the frizzle and Eagle schematics. I could always do a video of the lpm, although it will be on the breadboard. Once I've gotten it to work on the breadboard, I'll make a protoboard and come up with a good case. The last step will be a PCB layout.
