I bet there is a 100W IR diode in there. I just ordered one.

I'll do a review when it gets here.

LOL....I can't believe that they are putting that out!
Seems like a really bad idea putting such equipment into the general people's hands. Seems like there is A LOT of room for error, no matter how well they think they have designed this.
Crazy...Although I do like the cartoon instructions!

EDIT:....."DON"T BLINK!"........and it's only $100 bucks!!

Just seems a bit sketchy for $100 and your own eye sight!

Edit: on the other end, it may make a fun laser if it's any good.

Well if your spelling or typing is all screwed up, we will know that you got it.

Comes with "Mild sedative (diazepam 4mg)"

PS. The * after "Perform this painless procedure" states "*This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA."

So no one's willing to shine this in their eye then?

EDIT: "IMPORTANT: Do not point any other laser (including laser pointers) at anyone's eye. Do not look directly at any laser."

What kind of laser will be in that thing? (Power/Wavelength/Q-Switched?)

Wow.. I would never perform that kind of surgery on myself.. Even though it costs $10.000 from a doctor, I'd go with the doctor all the day..

"cuts a small flap in the cornea of your eye".. Cutting my eye? No.

F%$^ using it on my eye, but it may be a fun way to open eggs or carve meat. :eg:

The professional lasik I got was disturbing enough... You lose all ability to focus for like 10 seconds as (you learn later) they cut a slice of your eye. Then there's a noise and you smell burning.

On the plus side it's over in 12 minutes.

I was hoping this DIY device would allow you to at least reprogram. All those machines assume a 6mm iris, and that assumption messed up my vision at night permanently.
