Hey Guys, now have a couple of laser pens. Dont Know to much bout the things to be honest but whats really bugging me is when you have the pen on from say 1 metre away from a wall then 6 inches from the point of the laser is just smeared light. i assume this is just a dodgy reflection? is there some way to clean/fix this so you get just a clear solid point. thanks in advance. Kind Reagrds Marc.

Can you take a picture of the dot ?

It could be that the beam isn't exactly on the centre of the aperture hole. A part of the beam hit on the inside and reflected as a smear.

Hey thanks for such a quick response, i think that is what is happening. is it easily fixable? i will take a picture and upload it, just trying to find my camera

I have the same problem with my laser, any way of fixing it?

What is the problem ? Do you really think all lasers have a perfect circular round spot ? There are always some imperfections in the dot.

Mine is not like that its very much a small part cone on one side. it may be as you said thats its just like that but i have noticed tat when it has not been use for five minutes or so the first time it comes on there is no distortion and the light is much brighter, is this also normal?

How far away is that picture taken from? A few feet I assume? I also see a small dot an inch or so below the main dot.

nonono, not the dot, it cannot be seen on the pic, but it has a lot of scattered light...

You laser is likely mode hopping, and you need to clean your lens. If you can get to the lens, use a microfiber towel wet with isopropyl alcohol 90%. If you don't have that, use a qtip, and gently wipe off the lens, followed by a blast of compressed air.

Edit: From a can, don't breather on it... there is far too much humidity in breath.
