Hey All,

Having turned down my project proposal last year involving lasers, my Engineering Manager now seems to have got interested in lasers. He had now purchased a 75W CO2 cutting system for the college and seems much happier to let me build my initial proposal!

The downside? It also seems that now he is a laser owner, bragging rights are now in play. "Yeah, but I've got a 75W laser now... ", and the like. However, he did show me this YT clip that was quite interesting so I offer it up for viewing here too.

The first one is on Selective Laser Sintering, (3D printing essentially in a variety of materials), but is a bit, 'talkie'. The second one is the one he showed me on Direct Metal Deposition and is more impressive. Power outputs of upto 6,000W!

No need to cast huge blocks of metal and carve away the excess anymore. Just print it in metal with no waste!

I hope you like them and apologies if they are already posted.

There are some more on YT if you want to go have a look...
