Yep, I know there's loads of threads about it but I am not finding the results I want with the search feature.

My 90mW blue ray pocketpal build has been slowly dieing for some time now and I have decided to repair it. I bought a new PHR diode and I don't want to have to buy a new Aixiz module and chuck out the old one...

What would be the best way to remove the old diode without damaging the aixiz module and without spending money on diode removing tools?

I would much rather reuse the module I have now then buy a new one.

Small piece of radio antenna to push the diode out.

That's what I use but with a small mallet... and 4"" of antennae...

You could just use a nail and hammer, if the diode is dead it doesn't matter if you totally mangle it anyway. One punch and it's out.

FML does what I do. Except I used a tiny phillips screwdriver and a hammer. It leaves the module unharmed.

The best thing to use to get a laser diode out of an Aixiz module is one of Flaminpyros diode removal tools, they are only $15.00 and will remove a diode with out hurting it incase you want to reuse it. there is also a tool to safely insert a diode also.

Peace All Pyro... :eg:

Pyro,
how exactly does your removal tool work? I can't figure it out by the pictures. Will it also work for the Lasers4U module?

I only need to remove one diode, it's really unlikely I will have to do the same to any others as I don't make lasers that often... Hence the reason I don't want to spend money on something I won't use.
