Diode in not sitting flush in Axis Module

I just recieved my Axis Module with a PHR 803T LD pre installed from Hightechdealz. My concern is that this diode will not work properly as it's pressed in on an angle. And a pretty bad angle. I don't want to attempt to straighten it since it's already scarred with vise marks. Looking into the module with the lense removed you can clearly see the diode is aimed off to one side. Will this affect it's ability to properly focus the light since the LD is not aimed directly at the lense??

It's and a 6 Degree angle according to my optical comparator. Again i appologise for the blurryness.
 
try backing the camera away and zooming in. when it's focusing put your hand where you want it to focus and it should come out alright :D. personally I would attempt to fix it or have someone on here fix it.
 
That last picture is as good as it's gonna get i think, Anyway, You can definitly see the diode is sitting in the module on an angle.
 
it looks a bit more than 6 degrees off but that just may be that I'm flash blinded from a camera at the moment. I'm sure someone on here will give you advice on how to properly fix it by morning (USA eastern time) I'm not there and I can't tell how hard it's wedged in there so I can't help you :-/ sorry man :-[ :-[ :-[ :'(
 
This is a huge problem for the focus of the laser.  This most certainly should have NEVER left Hightechdealz shop!  >:(

First, I would use the back of an AixiZ module or some other tool in a vise to press (squeeze) the diode in flush.  All you really need for this step is anything flat with a hole just large enough for the pins to fit inside.  Place the tool over the back of the diode and press in the diode using a vise

Next, find or make a tool that is a tube that is wide enough inside for the pins to fit in, but less than 5.6mm outside diameter.  I use an old compressed air fitting.  I have seen others use the adjusting screw from a bicycle brake cable.  Some have just ground a tube down to fit.  Use that to press the diode the rest of the way into the AixiZ module.  You need to do this even if the diode goes in straight.  The diode should be slightly recessed in the module when it is set all the way in.  If you do not get it set all the way into the module, you will have trouble focusing the beam because the diode will be too far away from the lens. If you leave it at an angle the light from the diode will hit the lens at an angle and be very distorted.

First off, THANKYOU for the tips!!! I love this forum!!! I was able to re seat the diode, I then gutted a RayVac LED flash light and used the included driver to run my diode until my Lava drive arrives. It's running off 2 AAA's at 40mA so it wont burn anything, But atleast i can start building my heat sink and host. While i was playing with it i noticed something wierd, I shone the beam through my aquarium, And a VERY bright brilliant green beam went through the water pissing off the fish. Maybe this means the water is filthy with algea that florest (I know that is not the correct spelling) green, But whatever the reason, It was a great welcome to my very first Blu Ray laser beam ;D

i also noticed the dot on the plants is super red! From violet to green to red. To bad my cameras dead.

That is good advice. I usually have the camera 4 or 5 feet away from the diode then use my 3X optical zoom to make it look closer and crisper. That diode was pressed in horribly, But it should be a easy job for you to fix it with a vise. just watch those pins!
 
i use a top half of a green laser pen to press fit my diodes in the axiz modual and it works great :)
