I have a diode with this number on the side, J965JGR anyone know what type it is?

It come from an unidentifiable optical drive, it was not mounted on a sledge, but mounted remotely carrying the beam to the sledge through prisms and lens. Similar to a UDO drive but not like the ones ive had before.

Depending on the drive, it could be a 780nm IR diode. Most (but not all) of the 5.6mm diodes I've seen with numbers on the can are IR.

On an unrealted note, I found something that looked like a canless diode when tearing apart an old unidentified optical drive. Just a white rectangle with four pins on the back, something that looks like the die form a LOC on the front, and the number A40 printed on it. I haven't been able to get it to light properly, though, so I have no idea what it is actually...
