Hi Guys, I'm new to lasers, so I need help on this

I'm creating a laser pointer for medical purpose. I want to use several laser (2 or 3) at the same time and I'm using the same red diode laser types. I want to make differentiation from 1 to another laser so I know which one is on and which one is not... so how to do it? or maybe there are red diode laser that results in different pattern (not only dot)? I'm open to any suggestion... :san:

Your question isn't clear.... You know which Laser is on by the Beam Dot...
What other Patterns other than a Dot are you looking for...

Hmm... :D, for example, I have 3 laser pointers, and I want them to result not only in dot, maybe the second results in triangle, and third results in square... does that kind of laser pointer exist? :thanks:

No not to my knowledge... you might find a Laser lens with those shapes
on a cheap Red Laser end cap from the Dollar Store...

BTW... what medical usage would a Red Triangle or Square give you...

A weak lens will give you a large spot, and a weak rod lens will give you a line.
A upcollimated beam passed through a mask will give you a square of sorts.

There are other ways..

If I had more of a idea of your target distance and what you are trying to do...

ah, thank you very much for the information...

and it's for the operation process, to point an area on the screen :D

where can I buy that stuff Steve? can I get a picture of it? coz I'm newbie and doesn't really have a clue... :yabbem:

yeah, just like I wrote above, it's only for operation, so I only need 5-10m and just like normal laser pointer, its function is just to point something :D

You can use a standard red laser dot to point to a screen...
Ff you want to show the relative outline or area of a spot of
interest you can make a circle by rotating the spot around
the area of interest..
The Persistence of Vision of the human eye will make the laser
dot look like a circle.

Read this Thread to give you an idea....

BTW... I'm curious...
Where do you live... and how old are you...

You have those caps for cheap red lasers that project a shape, they often come with a whole bunch of different shapes. I've never really looked into it, but it seems these are holographic. I suppose the easiest way is to find some of those caps on ebay or something and use that on your laser. The picture quality or luminosity isnt very good though.

Hey, I've found the caps, :thanks:

that solve my problem then :D
