die4laser 1.3v 445nm (HPVR) setup

alright so I have all the wire hooked up and laser diode is running and I cut the jumpers however there is a problem, I am getting 369.9mA/mV across the monitor outputs. I hope i cut the traces properly as I followed what the instructions required of me.

I tried to get 1A out and maximum out is 369.9mA...
anyone got a pic of their driver?

He notes that R3 and R5 are mislabeled on the rev 1.1 pcb's.

That could be the problem.

Here you go.
I got the driver all set up and running properly now.
The output can go up to 2000mA at 4.6V though I would never run a 445nm diode at that current. Currently I am running a A-XJ 103 at 1535mA and I am sure I am getting about 1.3-1.4W out. Crazy burner !

These are serious lab drivers and are for sure worth the extra $10-15 each. Also they have a slow on which protects the diode from a sudden current spike.

NOTE TO ALL USERS OF DIE4DRIVER:

For 445nm versions leave J1 and J4 jumpers connected (Cut jumpers J2 and J3 traces on the board)
NEVER disconnect J1 or you will destroy your circuit board and driver. Also to note is that
SET pad is NEVER connected. You will destroy the driver and diode if you connect it.

- FULL POWER burn is triggered by 0-5v input signal which turns on full current mode.
make sure you adjust the output using the bottom POT. Top pot adjusts the idle current to the diode. Essentially you have 2 outputs Low and High. My low setting is 320mA and my high is 1532mA! My diode shows no signs of problems or excessive heating. I have run this diode for 2-3minutes on high without issues.

Today I got curious and turned the input up to 1825mA! WOW!
I mean WOW!!

Have a look at the results! The beam instantly creates a thin sliver of flame that jets out of the wood in under 1/2 a second. Not able to be heard is a pop sound of the ignition of the wood gasses. I am really impressed with my creation! I am having way too much fun. ::D:

nope, thats a A-130 and it's in a maxsink! I am seriously impressed. I can set wood on fire instantly with it when the wood is paced at finest focal point. It punches a leather "wallet" in under 1.3 seconds. I have noticed no degradation of the diode. I keep my run times short as it does make the maxsink warm after 1minute.

my input voltage is about 4v. I noticed that this particular diode has a large drop and needs lots of current to get it to lase properly. ... maybe it's not a 1st generation a-130. I don't know...

According tho the specs I see the A-130 can handle at least 1.5A in service.
 
There isn't much to show. I use the DVR pad connection a touch it to the positive on my DC psu and that is enough to trigger the High power mode.
