I just got into the laser hobby and purchased a laser from dtr called
450nm Osram PL450B Diode In Copper Module W/Driver & 405-G-2 Lens.
Link: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/450nm-pl450-diodes

It was working fine until I accidentally shorted the power leads... The driver board looks unharmed since there's nothing melted on it. Is my laser diode dead? I can't get it to turn on anymore :yabbmad:

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,
The best way is to get your self some equipment if your going to start building. A PSU is needed to check diodes properly and a DMM and a test load for the drivers you need to test and set.

weird, shortening the leads shouldn't have done anything to it. are you connecting it to the battery correctly? i find it very odd that it would just break.

any more info would be appreciated. also, please make a welcome post, and add your general location to your profile :yh:
