I was just wondering what you all thought about the destructivegear.com lasers.

They seem pretty cool. I definitely think i like the look of there lasers which is a little different. 8-) I just ordered one of their 5mw greenies because it was on sale for $30 USD but we will see when it comes in.

I too ordered one of their 5mw lasers. The others, I cannot really tell you about. I do know that their communication leaves a LOT to be desired - I have sent them a LOT of emails that have gone unanswered, which is a bad sign in my book. They came over here and posted once or twice, and that was it.

I guess it depends on how hard you throw it ! HAHAHA ! Sorry, I just couldn't resist !

Okay, seriously - the light will travel forever - how far away can you see the beam ? It depends on your angle to the beam, the atmospheric conditions, and WAY too many other things to list them all. There is no true answer to your question - and ANY retailer that lists distances as part of their sales propaganda needs to change it.

Sorry I couldn't be more clear ! now, realistically - the 5mw will be able to be seen for a fair distance - if you are using it to point out stars, it will look like it ends on top of hte star !

how far will 5 mW lasers go?
I can take my 5mW and easily point it at things over a mile away at night. But like SenKat says it really depends on the conditions.

Well, I got my 5mw greenie from Destructive Gear yesterday. It seems pretty nice and they claim that it is putting out 11.3mw. They claim that many of their 5mw put out more than 5mw. I know that it is definitely brighter than both of my WL core's. ;)

I received my DG 5mw today ! I am not sure what they say it is putting out, but it is putting out 11.7mw - happy camper 8-) For $30 SHIPPED - you cannot go wrong ! Just in case my daughter doesn't win the WL Core in the video contest in the "other" thread - I bought one from a member here for $33.00 shipped...so she'll still get one regardless - but for all the effort she has put into it, I hope she DOES win so I can keep it ! LOL

So I think i'm going to get one to just play around with. One of the 5mW Greenies.

Yeah thats a nice video. I watched it when I was at the Destructive Gear forum. But they have really nice cases. But at night can you see the beam?

Hi, this is my first post. I received a Destructive Gear Green Laser Pointer 6 weeks ago as a present from my class. It works great and seems to be durable. It has a on/off button at the back so you can turn it on and it will stay on without you having to keep pressing the switch. My only issue is with their not answering emails. When I received the laser (this was my first high powered green laser), I naturally tried all of the cool things that you can do with them. It will sting your skin, burn paper with the aid of a lens, etc. My only problem is that I do not know what power the laser is supposed to output. I think it is either 80mw or 120mw, but it is not marked on the laser. The people who ordered it have no idea what power even means. I have emailed Destructive Gear 4 or 5 times trying to find out, and they have not responded to any of my emails. Their product is great, but they simply will not respond to any attempts to contact them.

Hey :D

If your name is Mark, I did indeed send you an email each time you asked us (I count twice). Both times I attached the power report of your laser. We also sent a shipping confirmation email to the woman who bought it for you, which also had this report attached. Then we even snail-mailed her a copy of the printed out test report and a sticker that indicates the output power of the laser.

At any rate, something is wrong with your email or ours, but they got you a 75mw Sirius, which is tested to have a power of 85mW to 120mW over the test period.

If you've not seen it yet, why don't you email me your fax number and we can fax it to you?

Sorry if we failed to communicate - we really tried :-[

Well I could not find any night shots of the Greenie. But I did fine a cheap ebay 5mw laser with some night shots. Hopefully this will help.

Siska, its definitely your Email thats the problem, i had the exact same problem, i was just waiting for someone else to confirm it. (I was getting pretty pissed off until i found out i wasnt receiving the emails you sent) I was using Yahoo Email, What was Mark using?

Last night I turned on my DG 5mw greenie and compared it to the 50mw ebayser (Newwish) and the beam was definitely brighter. Of course it is a little overpowered, but still it should not be brighter I do not think. Anyway i am pretty happy especially for only $30 shipped 8-)
