Daylength around the world

Well...I got bored tonight & decided to let me imagination run wild. I finished creating a video showing how daylength changes throught the year, and how much of a change occurs depending on the months(latitude) :)

Let me know what you think:

Notice at 01.30 you can see me flashing a laser in Sydney, LOL.

I'll have to check this out when I get to a PC.....phone only play about half of these embedded videos
 
Up here where I sometimes work, during the summer in Prudhoe Bay the sun just goes around and around, never dipping below the horizon. Even in Anchorage where I live it only goes down for three to four hours and when it does, slowly edges across the horizon before it goes down.

I took a summer trip to Ohio one year and went for a walk before sun down in the evening to be surprised that for you lower 48 states folk, the sun just d u m p s straight down at the horizon, darkness quickly closing. That was so weird to me being used to a sun that angles down slowly.

Edit: I had to space out the word d u m p s - Apparently there is some kind of filtering against that word :p

Well technically any latitude above 48'33'43"N/S will have at least one night where it dosen't get darker then Astronomical Twilight(as listed on the video).

I really want to see the midnight sun at least once in my lifetime though :)

No you don't. You wake up, roll back the thick black shades in your man camp dorm room look up with blood shot eyes and say "F*** that's bright."

I'm kidding Greenlander, it is something to see but it can rough to look at when you're working 14 hour days.
