Hey everyone, I have an old 95mW wicked lasers nexus (cni laser) which is slightly damaged in a couple of ways. Over the years I think the pressure from the end cap on the batteries has forced the spring down to a smaller size, and so the batteries are not pressed tightly against the top end of the laser. I have to put a piece of aluminum foil in the top just so the batteries will make a connection. I also think the module has slightly been turned inside the body of the laser, b/c the button is missalligned and does not press comfortably and correctly like it used to. I have removed the button and I can see that the module is turned so the button is off center. I have also unscrewed the end cap with the lense and ir filter, but I am afraid to take the module out of the body as I fear I will damage the driver or screw up alligment. Has anyone taken apart a CNI before that could tell me how to remove the module from the body safely?

you should be able to just 'twist' the whole top portion of it. I took one apart recently, I dont have it in front of me right now but I believe the top inch or so can rotate so you can center the switch. If you want to take it all the way out, just twist the top portion back and forth while pulling out gently. :)
