Ok, today after I got home I was doing some measuring on distance versus burning power of 2 kinds of lasers, blu-ray 6x and a LOC open can both with glass lenses.
Anyways, it's all quite unscientific but decided to focus on some dried black chinese instant ink. Instantly I got a blinding white dot of light and hissing and shooting out sparks of the dried ink.
Now thats cool! I will post the pics. I guess Carbon is being vaporized at the very centre of the focused beam and creating a small jet of carbon vapour. Looks like some of those ruby laser shots on the carbon briquette a while ago.
I reminds me sort of a old carbon arc lamp. Very bright.
