Hi,
im new here and was wondering if someone could assist me as to how to convert a high quality 5 mw green laser to a 5000mw handheld device utilising a diode from a nubm08t array.
What supposed "high quality 5 mw green laser" are you talking about?
Am not aware of any on the market that will work with the diode you mention.
How do you expect anyone to be able to answer a vague question about an unknown laser beyond the obvious buy a diode, module, driver and lens and put the assembly in your "high quality 5 mw green laser" host if it will fit?
You would be much better advised to go to DTR shop and pick out a diode, modules, driver and lens of your choice and have member Lifetime17 make you a good quality diode module ready host that can handle the diode chosen and all you need to do is hook up 2 wires and put a battery in it.

Hi,
Ok the 08 diode has a factory ball lens installed, it can not be focused with a aspherical lens as we use here for our handhelds.
The ball lens can be taken off to be able to use an aspherical lens, but the diode will degrade much faster. The host will have to hold 2X18650 or 2X18350 lithium ion batteries . The host will come prewired and you need to solder two wires together and apply heat shrink tubing to the solder joints. Then just slide in the module and tighten the set screw to secure the module in place.
