Gday my fellow LPFers,

From Downunder! So been very busy lately with work but also
Found the time to build a few Custom pieces, These babies have taken
Me 6 weeks from start to finish, A few hrs here and there and I always
Take my time and perfect every detail as some of you guys might know,

I just love every aspect of the process, all the parts in these builds are brand
New and top quality,

This design without the thumb wheel and exposed lens really rounds out the high quality look. :gj:

I have an idea for what you could do about the air gap seen between the adjuster head and body on a build like this, it's not a critique but just a concept, if there was a ring of material left above where the 12mm copper module is inserted and a corresponding grove turned out of the adjuster head, that would hide the air gap seen from the side and add structural rigidity, if Billy did his usual great job on the tolerances and polished the surfaces it could feel really nice, you would not notice any thread play of the M9 x 0.5 lens barrel threads against the 12mm module threads.

Hi Red
I’m not sure how well this pic will come out at 800-600 but the host is actually machined perfect with the top cap intact while on the lathe, If you don’t mind the beam being out of focus you can just screw it in all the way, But for optimal divergence u need to unscrew the top cap about 2mm ! I could simply press the module in a little deaper but the alloy rear end that the Flexdrive is floating in is so close to the switch I didn’t want to risk squashing the wires on the edge of the switch!

That's a good looking unit, and I understand what you are saying about adjusting the module depth, I have set up some of my Chinese units where they bottom out at infinity focus, for my non burning lasers I pretty much just want an infinity focus anyway. :beer:

You could always add a silver/aluminum band/spacer to hold infinity.
