Hi guys!
I was wondering..
I got a few nice red LDs from DVD writers.. If i use a collimator lense from a laser pointer, i can make it into a tiny spot, but i noticed A LOT of the light coming out of the laser diode is getting lost, due to the required lense position..
Much of the light coming out of the LD goes around the lense, so it's power that is getting lost...
Does that mean i have a bad collimator lense?
Do Aixis modules work better when it comes to this? Are there any double lens arrangements for first gathering all the light and then passing it on to the collimator?
Or is this normal and i shouldn't worry about anything?
Thanks!
Igor
