Collecting money on brand new S1 lenses

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

r4mn33k, PM me with your order and then I can add you to the spreadsheet. Also, I got the Microsoft spreadsheet up and running, but am having connection problems, so for the time being could everyone just use the Google one instead. I will try as the day progresses to update it and make it available to you. Thanks, Paul

Atomicrox, you are on the spreadsheet. Remember to check the Google one for now.

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

I redid the spreadsheet last night at 1:00 A.M. I was off on the count and just finished doing it again. I added the number of lenses so far on the end of the spreadsheet, so if anyone sees a mistake, let me know. It should be all good, now. The price change wasn't much at all. Man, this has been a lot of work. Whew!

For those who want the formula for the PP fees, they are: (cost of lens X # of lenses) X 0.1025= PP fees. This covers the PP fees to Eitan and the PP fees he will have to pay to get the lenses. :can: Paul

Update :

Quick test with a 445nm 9mm diode at 1.75A :

Again looks like the same results as the G9 lens.

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

Eitan has sent me an email stating that my formula doesn't correct for his PP fees that they take from him, and it doesn't cover the PP fees he will have to send. I can't make heads or tails out of his formula, however. It is the (cost of the lenses/0.95)/0.95=? Now for a single lens costing $3.16/0.95=$3.33. Then $3.33/0.95=$3.50. That's it. He is in Israel and has gone to bed, so I'm wondering if he meant to take $3.50- $3.16=$0.34? Does anyone know how this is supposed to work, because I can't update this until I know what he is talking about. If the $0.34 is right, then $3.16 X 0.108= $0.34. Does anyone know what these PP prices will be? I have a PayPal business account, but hardly use it, so if anyone knows the answer to this question, post or PM me and let me in on it. Thanks, Paul

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

I Hope we can make payment to Eitan easily, if i remember rightly i was getting paypal errors when making manual payments to Eitan and he had to send me an invoice 2 complete my payment which worked first pop!

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

TLS, thanks. I was going to make it up to whatever payment device anybody wanted to use as long as I got the amount asked for at the end. But, it is not up to me and I will have to wait for Eitan to email me or log back on and tell me what he wants. I gave up control of this group buy when the price per lens and the output power of the new lens was too good to pass up. I have to pay everything you and anybody else in this group buy will pay. I'm in it for the shear pain of it. And, believe me, it doesn't disappoint. lol

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

By the calculation I am guessing the paypal fees are 5% so in order to pay $3.16 it needs to be divided by 0.95 to get the amount with paypal fees so if 3.16/0.95 $3.33 is paid, the receiver will get $3.16 but since there are 2 transactions, the 3.33/0.95 covers the next transaction, so per lens, we pay $3.50 Eitan gets $3.33 after pp fees, and then pays the supplier, who gets $3.16

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

Yeah, I get that. But won't the PP fees be the same if you take the $3.16 X 0.108= $0.34? That was my point. I need to be able to figure the PP fees for individuals and to me the easiest way is the price of the total price of the lenses ordered times 0.108. It comes out the same way with fewer steps. Am I right or is it something else?

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

yeah its the exact same the 5% twice makes a total of 10.8% paypal fees
(0.95x0.95^-1) - 1 = 0.108

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

Thank you, r4mn33k. All that to make a simple point. Now I have to wait until Eitan signs off on it and gives me his order because the price/ lens will change again. Right this moment it is $3.14 each.

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

The fact is that PP fees vary between different countries. Thy're usually one percentage and a fixed part, and therefore will also depend on how many lenses each participant takes.

We shouldn't close the GB until this is all figured out..
I can try to help tomorrow night, but right now I'm off to sleep.

Re: Group buy on brand new S1 lenses

As of right now, everything is up to date. Everything is current and is reliable. Enjoy! I'm sure it will change tomorrow.

Current estimates:
a = 3.14
b = 3.9%
c = .30
d = 400
e = 4

You're welcome.

If you only order 1 unit, expect to be paying about 7.82 dollars .

This lens is typically about 6.92 dollars for the identical g9 lens (I believe), but usually must be purchased in lots of 5, including shipping.

For 5 of these, it would be 23.07 compared with 34.56 for 5 g9's.

In other words, per unit cost is lower (5.88 vs 3.82), but shipping for 1 unit makes it less appetizing. Also, factor in shipping from the supplier in China, processing, and then shipping from Isreal to the US. It may be 1-2 months to realize savings of 12 dollars on 5 units. Of course, the more you buy the more you save, it's still 35% cheaper per unit.

I'm on the fence, is 12 dollars worth getting the lenses in 15 days instead of 45? Do we have an estimated time frame?

Do they come with a focusing ring?

I do not think this is correct. In anyway , I will just try to make a transaction on one lens to see how PayPal fees are being calculated again.

It will not get to $7. I work with PayPal for a long time and even for low transaction they did not take that much.

From a recent transaction of $11 I received $10.3. Which is about ℅7. On larger transactions they take %5.

It will not reach $7. I just made a quick calculation for one lens it will be about $4 or less.

:beer:

Update : maybe you meant with shipping ? ^^ then that is correct. But for more lenses it will be less as shipping will spread.

Anyway , these does not come with focusing rings. But , I can actually make a order for focus adapter ( custom ones ) for low prices if enough people will want them.

:)
