I'm looking to buy a 40Watt CO2 laser tube & power supply.

I looked at a couple of vendors: LightObject & ColeTech

Has anyone worked with lasers purchased from either of these vendors?

Prices look really good but they come from China and I've heard that can be hit or miss.

Thanks,
JROD

Have dealt very heavily with Lightobject, would highly recommend them.

Haven't heard much bad about coletech either.

:thanks: for the feedback Dan!

I feel better making the purchase knowing someone has had good luck with their products

Have you tried looking locally? You can save quite a bit if you look around.

I got a 40W CO2 laser from ColeTech a while back on eBay. Shipping was relatively quick to the UK and packing was reasonable.
The only problem I've had with it so far is the small flexible plastic pipes that join the bore coolant jacket to the mirror jackets, one cracked and fell off during operation resulting in water spraying everywhere and the other is starting to break too. Easily replaced with something a bit more robust though.

Yes, the water barbs can be a bit fragile, I've broken one off my tube too.

If it's a clean crack, you can fix it using superglue and a strip of fabric. Put a small run of superglue around the crack, and press the barb back on making sure it sits back in perfectly. Hold it under light pressure until it cures, then wait a couple minutes to make sure it's dried. I then held one side of the strip of fabric over the crack, dobbed it with superglue, let that cure, then wrapped the fabric around the barb and crack, dobbing it with superglue. Once you're done, drip superglue all over the fabric until it's soaked, and let it sit for a while. Mine has been going fine with this, and the fabric is a great reinforcement.
