CLOSED - Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

I guess I'll be doing that LPM test after all. It might be a couple days, though.

Keep us posted, cheech.

Curiosity was killing me. I was able to get into the university lab today and calibrate my meter to a coherent field master that was just certified a month ago.

New measurements put the diode, both of mine at 2.36W at 1.8A.

Much more inline with others measurements. I'll run a whole panel from bias up as soon as I have time.
Guessing I'll do a test at higher amperage later tonight out of curiosity.

Wow nice maybe DTR should start to stock them they are better then the m140 so far IMO

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

He will begin to stock them soon, very very soon. Sooner than you think. :shhh:

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

It looks like I might no longer need a PL TB450B, so if you could remove me from the list I'd appreciate it.

Sorry for backing out.

There are only 2 diodes left to get the GB started!

Are there people still waiting for me to do an LPM test? I just got a G2 lens in today and I'm not afraid to
use it! :D

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

yea I'm still wanting the lpm test :)

Are you really sure that this ugly part on the left side of the raw output comes directly from the diode or is it reflection from the inner side of your module/ heatsink?

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

The diode has been in two different modules with 3 different lenses. So far the pattern has not changed.

I'll go ahead and do an LPM test. Look for it within the next couple days.

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

If you would be willing to press it into a module (I'll pay you for the module), I'll take the last spot.

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

Just one would be great. :thanks:

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

Okay, I put you down.

One diode left, guys. :bumpit:

Unless there is more interest, this is going to be it.

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

Depending on the answer to these questions i can get the last diode.

Based on your testing, what is the Maximum current for this diode.

What are the outputs you have gotten for these diodes?

Can you put it in a copper module for me with leads? I can pay for that.

Thanks
-Matt

Re: Open: Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

First one tested was 2.5W with g2 at 1.8A and lightning stalker will make a lpm test too so basically you get a cheaper m140 with tend to higher wavelength

While the absolute maximum on these is still unknown pending the murder, they have been safely pushed to 1.8A with a copper module pressed into a good size heat sink. You can contribute something to the murder fund if you want to find out just what they can handle.

What are the outputs you have gotten for these diodes?

Others have made around 2.5W @ 1.8A with it. Personally, I have been running mine at 1.4A. They focus down very well. The other day I was trying to light a match the
"hard way" and cut it right in half.

Can you put it in a copper module for me with leads? I can pay for that.

Sure can
I have a couple here on hand to do yours and NO4H99's.

Re: Open: Taking payments ROUND 1 - Osram PL TB450B 1.6W (Substitute for the M140)

:bumpit:
ROUND 1 now complete
PMs will now be sent to all participants to request payment. In view of the lackluster interest in these, I
am still undecided as to weather I want to go ahead with another round. :anyone:
