I got a classic controller for the Wii a year ago, and now the A button doesn't work. But it only does this in Virtual Console games. :-? It works fine in the menus, but once I get to the games, the A button doesn't respond. When I tried to play Super Metroid, I couldn't jump obviously, but I jumped when I moved the D-pad in a direction opposite from where I was moving. :-? I really can't play a platformer when I can't even jump... :/
Any idea what could be happening/how I could fix it?

Tried changing the controller config ? So that the buttons are different ? ::)

take it apart and clean the contacts. that usually works unless you somehow broke it. dont forget to clean the back contacts of the buttons too. you never realize it until its too late but even with average use a build up of spilled liquids, skin cells and sweat, and other nasty stuff like smoke build up inside the controller and hinder the electrical contacts in remotes, controllers, and alot of other switch types that arent sealed.

I would need to use the A button for something. Not being able to use normal shots or run are about as bad as not being able to jump.

Thanks for the input, drew, I'll try that once I find a screwdriver the right size.
