IIRC, all of Ehgemus's titanium hosts are made with an aluminum core that is covered with an outer sleeve of titanium.
I'm not worried about the strength of my hosts, since I'm not usually beating on anything with them; BTW, titanium is also very poor at conducting heat away from your diode.
Yes, I do believe that the set screw is visible on that host, but I don't believe it looks even remotely "un-sturdy", and definitely not "un-professional" to me!
