just want to see what type of chat you guys want
personally i think it makes most sense to NOT embed the chat directly in the forum homepage, because it would need to go on the bottom somewhere, and might cause extra stress on the forum and slowness loading the main page
i would be in favor of option 2. i am not a fan of java personally. if we just do a regular chat that is not java based (e.g. html page that refreshes quickly and neatly), it will be more efficient than java , but it wouldn't be part of #laserchat. that is the only downside to not using java based solution
in a sec i will post a link for you guys of an example non-java based chat that we could use.
