I have both the Sanwu G7 and DTR's G8. I prefer the G8. Both of these lenses give better divergence specs because they have a longer focal length than the G2 lenses. The size of the beam at the aperture is larger with the G7 or G8 than with the G2, but because of this it diverges less.

Cool info! I heard about G8 lenses before but it does not seem as ubiquitous as G7 and is also more expensive. Furthermore when I bought the laser from sanwu, they did not offer G8 lenses so I had to stick with the G7. Maybe I would swap lenses to G8 in the future?

I plan to get a beam expander from Sanwu in the future or maybe I will build I out of 2 lens, a diverging lens and a collimating lens. Thanks for the tip though
