The WL goggles will stop enough except a direct shot or mirrored reflection at your eyes, then it lets through about 20mW. That's about 2.5%. (20/800mW) A 20mW reflection through the goggles would be .05mW (20 X 2.5%). I use them all the time (carefully).
If you want more protection, look at the Eagle Pair goggles I link to in the
G1 review. They stop 100% of the beam, cost $30. They are also very useful for taking photos of the beam spot, aiming the camera through them.
I haven't tested the reflections of the other lenses. I'm sure they do, just don't know how much. I'll run those tests and post them also.
I'm not sure how much of a problem the reflections back to the diode are. There were some diode failures in the early production G1, thought the lenses might be at fault, but I haven't heard of any on a G2.
