Can You Use Gel Paper For Band Lights For Laser Goggles

can you use gel paper that you use for lights in a band to make laser goggles?
i shine my laser thru it and it blocks all the light.
just a small beam gets thru.
looks just like the way my red goggles does.
any answers would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
I have heard of others doing this, but for the small price of a "real" set of goggles, why take the chance?
