I feel like I need to, my driver has a very low drop, and I need like 3v max and its giving 4.8 at the end. I cant just remove a battery because I need between 4 and 5 for the board, so is this plausible, or am I confused?

I see you had another thread similar to this in which I left a link, basically you need a test load that comprises of 4 1n4001 diodes and a 10ohm (i think) capacitor

you hook the driver to the test load and use you DMM to measure the output in mA and adjust the driver to the required output. using 3AA's is fine. The driver will handle everything else

that's just my point, unless I am not to worry about the output voltage until the dummy load is put on, its still too high?

Yeah, it's been a while since i built a test load, As for the parts, they will all work fine, but definitely need a test load to set the driver or you could end up over powering it and frying the diode
