Can I hot-wire bias current for this driver?

To build a scratch built laser projector, I am utilizing a 250mW eBay RGB laser module (edit: I believe it is made by Jolooyo). For my purposes, I need faster rise times - as it is, I cannot project a dot. A dot will instead show up as a line, and the rise and fall times can be seen visually as line fade-in and fade-out.

So, I decided perhaps I should try to add a bias current to the diodes R, G, and B to improve the rise time problem. However, I am not sure if it is safe to do this. It appears there is back - current protection (D7 D6 D5) which could perhaps allow me to hot-wire into the positive connection for the laser diode.

Alternatively, it may make more sense to just replace the driver with a better one, or build my own LM317 linear driver. LM317 being the cheapest and easiest option, of which I know can have a current bias resistor as part of the circuit.
