Can drivers be wired in together?

I am trying to double up my red for an rgb and curious to know if I can wire two drivers together in series, so as to be able to use a higher votage battery source, or in parallel, to be able to use just one battery source in general. The drivers I have came with a diy blue ebay kit and were designed to run off of a 9v. I have them running reds instead, with a 4.8v 150mAh Ni-MH battery, which is to small to run one for very long...let alone two. Can I run them both off of one 9v perhaps? Thanks in advance:beer:

Almost forgot...I have a 12mm pbs cube that will sit atop the aluminum standoff.

Are you simply talking about powering two drivers from one power source?

That's how I might do it. It really depends on the needs of the drivers you are using.

What kind of drivers are you using? Are they buck/boost? Or a linear setup?
 
Running that thing without heat sinking the modules will result in overheating fast if you leave it on for any length of time.

Yes, you can run them in parallel from a single source...

I have done this using a 7.4 volt LiPo battery. You will need at least that much voltage. But capacity is needed as well. That is why I went with the LiPo.

Those LM317 based drivers will take over 30 volts supply, but you only need about 7.5 for reds, or 9 for blu-ray.

If you have more voltage than you really need. The drivers will get hotter...
