Buying a Wicked Laser thru a Third Party Source

Hello,

I'm interested in buying a Wicked Laser, but prefer a new one. I guess the only way we (in the USA) can buy one is to use a third party source outside the country. There are two guys on eBay that are doing it. One seems reputable, but charges a 100% premium. There's another user that's charging a 25% premium on new products. He seems a bit flakey.

Finally, I had a lady named Laser Chick contact me thru this forum about selling me a low use version. How would I conduct a sale thru this website?

Is there any other way to purchase new WL lasers above 100mW?

There is no official system in place for trading. We all rely on mutual trust, or at worst, a trusted middle man such as an older forum veteran.

You simply contact Laser Chick, grab her Paypal address or whatever her preferred method of payment is, pay, and wait for the laser to arrive.

First off, please use "through" instead of "thru".
Second, why do you want a wicked lasers laser? There is no shipping guarantuee, if it gets shipped it takes ages, build quality is bad for the price, and they are already very overpriced! Also, wicked lasers doesn't even sell above 5mW to the US. I would suggest going with another laser. If it's only about the host, just get a jetlasers.org laser. Better build quality, awesome customer service, better prices, and a shipping guarantee. Plus, they do sell the US.

In his defense, Wicked's host designs are quite pretty. I for one didn't have anything much to object about the two Arctics I had, and I ended up deeply regretting their sale :/ Wish I still had at least one.

Sure, there are alternatives, I'd first recommend:
bitlasers.com (know the owner, he's awesome).
Blord (contact the member directly for a build).
Survival Lasers (errybody says they're good).

But if out of all the options a member just decides Wicked lasers, it's his choice, that's what he wants. Nobody can say "You need to stop wanting that thing and start wanting another thing".

Yeah I guess that's true. However, jetlasers hosts are also extremely nice looking, kinda like WL. And if you really would like a good looking host, you can get more for less even in a custom host from ehgemus.

True that. I always drooled over Titanium hosts from Jet. So awesome.

Almost said "Yeah but custom hosts are expensive", then I remembered, so is Wicked :D

No.

Didn't you start out with the same song and dance here of LPF on 14 July with your first post and thread? here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/how-can-i-buy-new-wicked-laser-krypton-usa-94375.html
I am interested in buying a brand new Wicked Laser Krypton, but live in the USA. I know there's a third party seller on eBay, but their prices are way over 100% markup. Are there any other third parties that can buy for us in the USA?

You already have been given all the answers that can be given many times over. How many times are you going to ask the same thing?

No sales of anything are conducted through LPF. Any sales between members are private sales.

Wicked Lasers will not accept orders from US, AU, CH or NZ for lasers above 5mW due laws, rules, and regulations in those Countires.

Wicked Lasers is listed 4 times of the FDA "List of firms and their products subject to Detention without Physical Examination (DWPE) under this Import Alert (a.k.a. Red List)see:Import Alert 95-04 WL no longer ships to USA.

Hand held lasers/laser pointers over 5 mW are prohibited from sale in the USA see: Does FDA regulate these new powerful laser "pointers" and are they hazardous?

While people do it until they are caught sales of lasers over 5mW are not allowed on ebay either see: Hazardous, restricted, or regulated materials

Guys...thanks for your responses. I'm learning a lot on this forum.

I may have made a mistake and bought that "new" Krypton on eBay for $900 and it says it comes with accessories and the lens kit. Sounds sketchy, but the other feedbacks seem to support the seller. Plus, eBay claims to guarantee the sale.

BTW......and yes...I asked this question earlier with a slightly different wording and the thread was somewhat went off topic into buying other brands.

wow save your money u can get a very nice laser for less then half of that money, wicked lasers were so overpriced and overrated why do people still believe they are so damn good ? they suck nothing else..

I had a low powered WL Krypton (150mW) and really liked it. Paid $250 for it and sold it for $300 in very good condition. Why do people beat up on WL lasers? Envy?

I will probably end up selling it, but for once I want to play with a laser that is close to 1 watt. My only other laser is only 200 mW Dragon Laser Spartan.

No, it's just that Wicked hasn't exactly been known as a paragon of stellar business practices through their lifetime.

It's not about beating up on their products per se, it's the company that people have a problem with.

So I dunno, if you wanna get a WL product, either grab a used one off a member like you already mentioned being offered, or have it drop-shipped to you by somebody over sea. Those are the options that I see.

Everything on ebay is used and without any warranty as none of it comes from WL directly--also nobody running an active auction shows any real pictures of what anyone might buy---just reposted imagies from the WL web site. --

You say "new" which I guess means used but unused ---which Krypton did you buy original series 532nm or new series 520nm

It is interesting because ebay does not show any current, completed, or sold Krypton listings for $900 nor any sold beyond mid-June. see: wicked krypton laser | eBay There was a $900 sold item on 17 June that was for 2 lasers 1 arctic and one krypton + accessories, however

Can you post a link to to the listing active or closed that you purchased?

The reason people were trying to steer you away from a Krypton is because they are very overpriced low quality products that were marketed aggressively to people who didn't know any better with false and misleading representations and their service was substandard and on and on.

PS I seriously doubt ebay or paypal will support or guarantee trade in items that are not allowed or are prohibited item in violation of ebay and paypal rules/policies.

Well...IMO...Wicked Lasers are STILL the most well known (high powered) laser out there and command the best resale. I had one and I liked it at least as well as my Optotronics and Dragon Laser. It somehow seems vogue on this forum to bash WL. So be it.

The eBay number is: 161766909983 I paid a little under $1000 with shipping with BEST OFFER. I'm assuming its the 520, but would be just as happy with the 532 (assuming it shows up on WL's validation lookup table as legit).
