Hey guys, I'm new here and I have found an awesome hobby...lasers!! And I would like to buy one. I have checked out nova, opto, wicked, even DX. I recently bought two DX 30mW's. And I would like to buy a pulsar or some green pen or flashlight style. PM or reply. Thanks.

Stay away from the pulsar. You would be better off getting the 200mw pointer on dx than spending that much money for a red laser. You can literally build your own for about the same cost it would be to buy the 200mw red on DX without having to wait for it to ship to you.

Agreed, if its just a powerful red laser you are after than the dilda (DX200) would be best for you.

Hey kenom, nice V2 barels you got there. I was thinking of buying one to build a diy red. If i bought one of stonetek's sony diodes, do I need to buy anything else if i bought you barrel with a lavadrivev2. Oh an what ma should i put the diode for max output/ decent life span? Do i need to buy a axiz module? I have seen you video on the dorcy, but i was just curious on what i need for the barrel.

You do not need the Aixiz Modules if you buy the kenbarrels/ Kryton Groove :) The "module" part that the diode installs into is integrated into the design of the head of the Kryton Groove (proper name for the Kenbarrel) and provides SLAMMIN good heatsinking :) Oh - and NOT doing the hard-sales type of thing, but if you buy one diode - you should buy at least TWO....if you booger one up during the install - then you have to wait for another one to arrive :P Besides that, it's always good practice to have a spare on hand :)

I can't second that more. Greg's diodes are almost THE best thing out there. for $20 (plus a bit for shipping and handling) it really is a great value and you will need 2 for replacing when you blow the first. If your good and don't blow the first, you can always use it for another laser. :)
