Broken Purple 50MW Laser pen

I bought a 50MW purple laser pen of a friend for an over priced £30. Later found out i could get the same thing for about £10.
Anyway, i looked into it and found out i could make it slightly brighter by adjusting the screw underneath the laser pen.

I was using the method where you pop the lid off and slide the inside out. When i was turning the top in a circle motion attempting to get it out i pulled it one to many times and it all came out very fast, i couldn't see where the wire attached too.

I have currently broken the wire in the picture, so apologies for that but i can solder it back on, once i know where the other end is supposed to go.

It is the positive terminal, and it still works when a battery is connected to the wire and the spring.

It is a bit hard to see, what is inside the battery compartment to attach it to, if anything.
It could be that the battery case is the + lead, or that the batteries are in a loose plastic case insulating them from case. Or the case itself could be the + lead with the batteries touching the base of the case.

Such a long uninsulated wire makes little sense unless it is the contact surface itself.

First see if there is more that just metal in the battery compartment, if not try hold the spring to the batteries and touch the wire to the tread.

If the later works you can let the wire catch in the tread or stick it in along the batteries pressed against case.

I've tried that. I wedged the wire down the first part that comes off, the side with the laser and it didn't work.

It confused me too. I think it might have been longer, and has either snapped, or just been stripped when my hand ripped the insides out

I have looked in the compartment, and cannot find anything. The wire cannot go to the back of the battery holder, as then the two ends woulden't seperate.

50MW eh? And here I was thinking that the 32kW laser that shot down that drone was powerful X)
