Boomers Suppy 1mW HeNe on ebay

Here are some pics if anyone wants some better ones!! Dark_horse and I bought these around the same time, and they actually have uniphase tubes, not melles griot. It may just be random on which tube you get, but either way this is a great deal. Here are some pics of mine!

This is the only decent picture I have of the laser while it's still in the plastic housing that it comes with...

And here are some of the bare tube, which I pulled from the plastic housing:

EDIT: Here's another one. I really like this one!

That's pretty cool. I think I'll take that deal ;D

But one little question. In the pics in the auction most of the tube is revealed so we can see the cool effect inside, but Gooey, in your tube most of it is covered up and only a little bit is shown. Is it completely random, or do you get the one in the picture in the auction?

I'm pretty sure it's random. Dark_horse and I both got uniphase tubes, which are more covered up, and the exact same pictures were used on the auction we got ours from. Still cool though :)

Oh nuts.

I WOULD of had enough money in my paypal, but I just noticed that the AUD has completely crashed. It used to be 96 cents to 1 USD. Now it's 86 cents to 1 USD, everything on the internet just got a 10% price increase :'(

You mean the USD crashed.

If the USD crashed, how come it's trading higher than before?

I have to pay more Australian dollars to equal a US dollar. Meaning either the US dollar has gone up in value, or the Australian dollar has crashed in value.

If the US dollar crashed, it would be the other way round. And I'd be able to get more US dollars per Australian dollar, and I'd be able to buy this.

The less you have to spend to get 1 USD, the better.

When I got the Germany in 2004, I had to pay about $1.20 to get 1 euro. I had to pay about $1.35 to get 1 Euro when I left. That means the US economy was worse than it was when I arrived 2004.

Let's say something cost $100 in the US and Australia and the exchange rate is $0.86 AUD for $1 USD. I would have to pay about $115 USD for buying that same item in Australia. I would be losing money if I bought that item is Australia. If you came to the US to buy that item, you would be paying about $86 AUD. You would save money.

BTW, I think you meant it cost $0.86 USD for $1 AUD. That's the current rate according to http://www.xe.com.

Yeah, I think I meant the other way round. Stupid sharemarket rates, always confuse me :-X

Fluctuations in the dollar annoy me for this particular reason :D
