Ok so I bought a new aixiz module to put my blue ray diode in but I have a small problem... The diode doesn't fit the module very well... I compared to a red closed can diode I have laying around and that seams to fit in and stay in if i just give it a little push with my finger but the blue ray diode I have cant even do that.

Are they all like this or is something horrifically wrong here? I think the diode will go in but its going to be horrible trying to crush that in there.

Its just a normal aixiz module with acrylic lens.

I mean with the red diode I can get it level with the module and push it just enough to it to stay there on its own, I have trouble even getting it to line up with the module in the same was as the red...

I will give it a try though.

Edit: Done it.

These are not really "precision" parts. Some holes are larger than others. Some holes are a bit out of round. Some of the diodes have the same problems. Use a "tool" to press the diode into the module. You want it to be a "tight" fit. That is how the heat is transferred. If you can push it in with your finger, it is too loose. If you must, you can use a bit of sandpaper on a small "stick" to open up the hole a bit. If you sand too much though, you will need some thermal glue to hold it in place.

Peace,
dave
