Blue 445nm build Issue-Laser turning off

Hi, after a long time I finally gathered information to build a non popular laser, previously had only made c6 and 501b. The issue with this laser is that it turns off after few seconds. After doing some research I found that I have not heatsinked the 1.8A driver properly. So since I made it already I am looking for some help to fix the issue if possible. Here is a list of parts used:
1.8A round driver from mohgasm
m145 diode from Daguin
Host from dx
heatsink from eudaimonium
and copper heat sink from dx
g2 lens from dtr
thermal plaster from ebay

I take it the driver heatsink didn't fix the problems ?? what batteries are you using, are they fully charged ???
 
It's probably just the way it looks in the first pic, but it almost looks as if the black wire is being pinched where it comes through from the driver?
 
ii'm hoping them wires are pushed in the hole when it's screwed together

Turn the thing on and touch the heatsink (DON'T touch the driver electrical parts. Only the HS, with one finger). Measure tailcap current (using a multimeter in current (10A) mode; search on google). Re-check electrical connections, but I doubt that is the problem.
Is any hissing or sound coming from the driver?
 
I would get some cooling spray and cool the end where the driver is. If it stays on, heat is your issue. If not, then it is time to look at other possibilities.

What are you using for batteries? With that driver you should be running two 3.7 V Lithium Ion batteries. For a 7.4 V total. If you are running a single battery that could be your issue.

You also may have damaged your driver or diode early in the build, while trying to get it right.
 
Yeah, me too, just thought I'd mention it. When I zoomed in on it, the wire almost looked as if it was flatened a bit, maybe just the way the light is shining on it.
 
Hi, thanks for the help everyone, I opened it and tried everything, I was using two 3.6V batteries, I changed those to 2 3.7v batteries. Checked all the current and voltage that was fine made sure the wires were not bent when I closed it. Also I put a little bit of electrical tape to the side of the pill where it connected to the outer part of the driver. After putting it together I turned it on and it did not turn off after a few seconds like before. Then I put back the two 3.6v batteries and it still worked fine. So I am guessing either I didnt close it properly and something was wrong with the internal wires (next time I will try to keep them a bit more shorter) or it was the connection of the driver to the pill that was held secured by the added electrical tape. But what I found strange was that when I lpm'ed it using a 3 elemental lens it peaked at 1.238W even though it is 1.8A current. Is that normal? In comparison to my mohgasm 1.6A c6 jad kit using 3e lens it is around 1.45W
 
Some diodes are more efficient than others, so it could just be your diode. If you look at some of the charts in the forums you will see where they have comparisons from one persons test results to another. A 200 mW variance is not uncommon.

Glad you got it to stop powering off!
 
Alright, I just tested it with a g2 and it is 1.596W while the other one c6 at 1.6A and g2 it was 1.898W so there is a ~300mW less with .2A more current. I just want to make sure that I am not damaging the diode or doing anything wrong since this is my 3rd build so far.


EDIT: I made a very silly mistake I am sorry I just used a fully charged pair of batteries and it did hit 1.976W I am making very minor mistakes and forgetting about them
