im getting a few blu ray diodes some time in the next week... n i was wondering if doubling a red diodes mA would work

because on the test load i got tday n tried to put together had those 6 lil things... took 3 for the red... 6 for the blue... help?

btw the test load didnt go together easy and i think i broke it... thats why im asking if i use the 1ohm resistor on a blown red diode n double the powerwould work

and i tried wiring up all the stuff from the test load off the board n it still didnt work... no parts touching anything they shouldnt no loose solder points

You are going to want 100-150ma depending on your desired power. 100ma will last you a long time and you will get less power. 150ma will need heat sink and will have a shorter life but will have more power.

so could i use a red diode to set the mA? or would a blu ray diode suck up more power n make a different mA?

srry just making sure i wont screw up my 1st blu ray

(n yea ive read alot on here)

You will also need a heatsink for 100mA. If you want it to last a very long time (assuming you're not one of the people who are constantly turning it off and on), you could run it up to 110mA. 150mA-170mA would die in a few weeks, but super powerful!

hah k... sweet... thnx 4 the help

i have all my stuff set up in a random flashlight... got 2 washers that fit pretty tight n r polished as my heatsink right now
