the last 3 diodes of my batch have been projecting in a rectangular shape instead of the normal dot. looks like COD. does anyone know why this is or if its happened to any of you? i hooked them up to a proper driver that drives other blu ray diodes just fine. :'(

I have the same problem. I think I am not giving it enough power though. I posted my problem in another thread but mine does this too. If you focus it in the axiz housing it seems to do nothing right? I spin it both ways as much as I can to fucus but same rectanular or ovular shape. I am using the DDL driver with 9v and 100-200ohms of resistance in place of a pot, I am told to try 30-50ohms, I will let you know if this fixes it for me.

yep, same exact problem. brand new fresh diodes on a perfect driver that drived plenty of other good diodes. i have tried around 30-33 ohms of resistance putting in around 40mA and still nothing. it appears to be some type of COD. idont think putting more power into it will do anything...

I don't know what COD is? I tried many things though, and no luck, I am afraid it is just a expensive LED now :'( I tried bringing the ohms down to about 20, and it was no different than 100ohms. I tried moving it all over in the housing and it still won't focus. :-/
