Biggest Nd:yag rod I've ever seen

So, I've found yet another few ludicrously sized laser items. These are three Nd:yag rods. I don't know what they'd be good for. Hitting baseballs with maybe? (btw, apparently these are also from the nova laser, maybe there's a yard sale going on?)

I still can't post links, so can somebody repost the links?

Those rods are useless except for maybe using the sapphire as jewelry. The cost to have them planed and polished then AR coated would be extreme. They would require custom resonator cavities and huge pumping power. At 1.8% doping they are only pulsed type rods so any ideas of a hugely powerful CW greenie is out the door.

Way to ruin the party!  ;) Kidding of course, we need guys that know what they are talking about, like you, to keep us in check sometimes  :-[

FC beat me to the draw here. USELESS items. Livermore???
"Minor" chips ???? Every shot makes them bigger. Been there.
