ok, i know this doesn't involve lasers but it is pretty neat!
today i built a fresnel lens magnifying glass that has a diameter of 7 inches! it can start a fire on the opposite side of a match in about 2-3 seconds, anyway here are the pics!

thanks, i really tried hard to make it look nice and very functional, now only if i had a laser warning sticker that reads "danger! do not look into aperature, avoid direct exposure, 1+ watts of full spectrum light!!!"

mine was 8x11 until i cut it into a circle for this project, this way it is easier to focus

I have a Fresnel lens thats over 12" across And man can it burn !

no, if i focus the light from the sun i can light the plain wood side of a match in 2-3 seconds
