what do you guys suggest?

and do would u guys change anything else on my parts list?

thanks :p

Welcome to the LPF forum !

The housing is not a host. It can only hold and keep the diode cool. You need a host for holding the diode , driver and the batteries all together. Unless you are making a lab laser.

And the driver depends on the battery configuration especially the input voltage. The driver in your link for for one 3.7V li-ion battery.

The choice between osram PL TB450 or m140 is purely yours. Both are capable running at 1Watt.

i first of all want to get it working as a lab laser and maybe convert it over to a "flash light type" laser (dont know how its called) if everything works fine.

You will know what it is called as well as knowing which
LDs are the best choice for your project by doing a little
research and reading on the Forum...
