Behavior of laser light in acrylic...

Hi everyone! This is my first post here...I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever edge lit acrylic with a laser, or, more specifically, a line laser. I wonder if you get the same internal reflection as with LEDs?

I took apart a Brother laser printer, and it had an acrylic moustache-shaped lens/waveguide kinda thing... very cool to shine a laser into at different angles, you can see it bouncing around inside the plastic.

I also got a nice 1cm x 1cm mirror, and hexagonal rotating mirror thingy as well...

I'm sure if you defocused the laser it would act like any other light source.
