For those of you that own Lazerer Rifles running on the recommended 2 x 16340s you will no doubt have noticed the batteries are a bit slim for the host and can tend to move around a little - there's probably about 3mm of play. I've occasionally had contact problems using the 16340s (low power/beam dimming and brigthening) which has been cured by a quick unscrew of the tailcap and screwing it back up tightly - which also leads me to think a little extra length could be needed (A statement open to jokes - I know:) )

To try and combat this I ordered a couple of AW IMR 18350 batteries, and they are a much better fit for the rifle host - almost perfect in fact. The capacity of the AW IMR 18350s is 50mAh lower than the 16340s, but thats the only thing going against them.
(edit: Thats compared to the usual xxxxfire 16340.(as supplied), the AW IMR18350 are rated HIGHER than the AW IMR 16340, 700mAh v 550mAh)

Obviously, it too early to tell if it has cured my contact problems (I expect so), but the 18350 fit the host so much better than the 16340 I don't understand why they aren't the recommended batteries.

:thanks:

Interesting, I wonder if this could be true for other hosts like the C6 & SL-SS as well. I see there is some extra room, not sure if it's big enough though.

Just tested, they fit both those hosts too ;)

Just tested, they fit both those hosts too (a very 'snug' fit) ;)

btw, I just used my xtar mp2 16340 charger to charge them. Its not the type with sliding contacts so they were a tight fit in the charger, but they still went in easily enough and both charged to 4.21v

Nice! That's actually great to hear.

I want to try one myself, I think I'll go order them now :D Then maybe I will recommend these batteries to my customers rather than the usual 16340s :p
