What batteries would be recommended for a 445 (blue), typical host, around 1.5w-2w? And how long could I expect it to last.

It depends on the driver you have. You either want to use 2x li-ions with a buck/liner or one li-ion with a boost.
The output depends on what current you run the diode at and what lens you use.
