hello,

im looking for rechargeable batteries and charger for these 2 lasers, on dx their sku is 10557 and 11315

i do not want to buy the batteries and charger at a local store for unreasonable prices so if anyone could provide a link to a site with these batteries and their chargers that would be great!

I have a question, If I have a 6V battery that at any given point can output 600mA and i attach it to a laser with driver that needs 400mA will that send 600mA straight into it, or will the laser + driver only draw what it needs ?

thanks,

The second scenario. Current = voltage divided by resistance. I = U / R. The voltage is 6V, and if you measure the resistance of the circuit you'll know the current that'll flow. In your case you'll only reach 600mA if the resistance is 10 Ohm.

So the laser and driver will only draw 400mA if thats all it needs, and If I increase the resistance the current should descrease ?

I know Ohms law btw, but thanks anyway ;)

Not "what it needs". The current that'll flow is limited by the resistance of the circuit it runs through. Unlimited resistance = no current, no resistance = short circuited. If the driver needs 400mA the resistance should be 15 Ohm.

OK, so what I'm saying is if the battery can supply 600mA and the driver needs 400mA that leaves the battery able to supply 200mA, right ? because the driver only draws 400mA.

Sorry if this is getting annoying ;D

With batteries the mA means mAh. Maximum current per hour. It means that the 600 mAh battery will be depleted after 1,5 hours of continuous use.

Ahhh so thats what that means ( top physics class aswell ;D ) Cool, well I know what battery to get now :D .

Thanks,

Thanks, Ill post pictures of my project when I finish it ;D wont be for another few weeks, till I get all the components ( IE the laser, switches, batteries and containers etc etc. ) and also build it.
