Basic Tunnel Scanner

How fast of a motor do I need if im just using a tilted mirror mounted on the output shaft to make it look good? 1000rpm? 10,000? any tips would be appreciated.

Almost any speed will do on a single motor scanner. I use vibro motors from mobile phones with a small plastic mirror stuck to the end of the shaft, I have no idea of the speed but it is faster than a computer fan and, if it is a hand held you are considering, nice and compact.

Motor off= dot
Motor on = tunnel
